Salcido Law on the Forefront of Opposing the Utah Grand Jury Bill

This morning in an early hearing at the Capital Jerry Salcido of Salcido Law Firm PLLC who along with criminal defense attorney Sean Hullinger represented Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, as well as Utah Rising’s Darcy Van Orden, gave testimony to the Utah House Judiciary Committee in opposition to Senate Bill 133 otherwise known as the Grand Jury Bill.

Mr. Salcido, Mr. Hullinger, and Ms. Van Orden all expressed the truth that the Grand Jury Bill proposes a “fix” to a system which is not broken and which will result in the further erosion of individual liberty in Utah.  In spite of their opposition, the committee passed it with a super majority. If passed, prosecutors will now be able to indict criminal defendants behind closed doors in secret without the protections afforded by criminal defense lawyers much more easily.

Mr. Salcido was quoted in KSL news today which you can read more about here.
