Orem Woman Killed, Driver Arrested for Possible Automobile Homicide

A woman in Orem was killed this weekend when a car jumped the curb she was sitting on and hit her.  She was taken to a nearby hospital where she later died from her injuries. Apparently the driver had been cited earlier that night with intoxication and disorderly conduct.  Romero S. Hernandez, the driver, attempted to leave the scene but was later found hiding a few blocks away.  A likely charge that will be brought against Mr. Hernandez is vehicular homicide.

Automobile homicide is a third degree felony and is basically a DUI, whether drugs or alcohol, that involves the negligent death of a victim caused by the intoxicated driver.
