Lawsuit Over Illegal Foreclosures
Utah Lawsuit Alleges Bank of America Illegally Foreclosed
A proposed class action lawsuit was filed this week claiming that Bank of America and its subsidiaries have executed tens of thousands illegal foreclosures in the state of Utah. The suit is specifically on behalf of three Utah couples who lost their homes in Park City, Salt Lake City, and Mapleton. The complaint alleges that Bank of America has failed to conduct business as prescribed by Utah foreclosure laws, and more specifically that they did not provide written notice when a foreclosure sale was going forward. Utah does not require judicial proceedings for foreclosures to take place and the State also has one of the country’s highest foreclosure rates.
